Nursery Theme
Though we don't have a separate nursery yet I am still making part of the room dedicated to Elijah. I am thinking of doing a jungle theme and made some wall art for the nursery. Here are a few drawings I've been working on.
Officially 3rd Trimester
Well 27 weeks down 13 to go. I am officially in the 3rd trimester, here is the excerpt from babycenter:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Everything has been going well, this pregnancy (knock on wood) has been pretty easy. Elijah started kicking a few weeks ago and now has been kicking non stop. I can actually see the movement through my skin. Deonte felt him kick as well but was a little freaked out by it lol. It is kind of weird the first time you feel it. But now I look forward to the kicking as a sign that he's still doing well and is active.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the Glucose Tolerance test AGAIN!. I took the one hour one and failed it, took the 3 hour one and passed it. But I guess they want me to take it again now that i'm further along as gestational diabetes is more prominent later in your pregnancy :( The nasty orange drink and needles are no joke.
Anyways on to better news, Amanda has sent out the invites for my Baby Shower!!! October 6th. I'm very excited, not only will it be fun to see everyone but Deonte and I will also be introducing our families for the first time. Here is a pic of the invitation:

We have the crib set up in the room and thanks to Deonte's family we have tons of clothes! Now we are have just been organizing the apartment to make room for more space for baby stuff. Everything is coming along, I think we are pretty prepared at least in the organization department. I was worried about trying to make do with 2 people a dog and a baby in a one bedroom apartment but I think we can make it work... for the time being.

21 Week Ultrasound
Saturday, July 14, 2012
It's a BOY!!!
It's a Boy! we had our ultrasound on Tuesday and the Doctor told us we are having a Boy. We are both ecstatic but I will admit I did kind of hope for a girl. It is always possible the doctor made a mistake ;). We have picked a name... (drum roll)
Elijah Jamaal Freshley
We were looking for strong names and Elijah means : My God is the lord
Elijah is also the name of religious leader Elijah Muhammad. And of course Jamaal is the middle name of Deonte.

On another note, where is this magical pregnancy glow? All i can find are blemishes. I never really had an issue with acne but I'm getting pimples everywhere! Am I missing something? The only glow I've been able to find lately comes in a bottle of Jergens lotion. Well just a small price to pay I guess as I've heard everything goes back to normal after the baby is born.
I will try to keep this blog consistent and up to date as things progress. We are soo excited to meet Baby Fresh!
